Hip-Hop
Hip-hop dance follows the same class pattern as Jazz, with less emphasis on classical techniques
and flexibility. Similar to Jazz, the Hip-Hop dance style refers to social or choreographed dance
styles primarily danced to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture. This
includes a wide range of styles notably breaking, locking, and popping which were developed in
the 1970s. Students who wish to enroll in hip-hop must be enrolled in at least one technique class.
