Mrs. Sommer Harris-Nance

Sommer, a graduate of both Tennessee State University and Maryville University of St. Louis, developed a love for dance at a very early age. She started her dance career at Pelagie Green Wren Academy of Dance where she studied ballet, tap, jazz, African, liturgical, lyrical, pointe, and hip hop dance. As a teen she studied with the State Ballet of Missouri/Dance St. Louis and was selected to perform in the Nutcracker at the Fabulous Fox Theater. She was also a cheerleader for Hazelwood Central High School and captain both her freshman and senior years.

While attending Tennessee State University, Sommer was captain of the award winning TigerGem Dance Team. She later became a NFL cheerleader with the Tennessee Titans and then a captain of the St. Louis Rams Cheerleaders. In 2005, Sommer was honored to be selected to represent the St. Louis Rams in Hawaii as the 2005 ProBowl Cheerleader. She has also performed as an IFL cheerleader with the River City Rage.

Sommer has performed on several television programs and commercials, as well as danced for national recording artists. She currently judges dance competitions throughout the country and continues to teach and choreograph at local schools, dance studios, and churches.
